NOON UPDATE

Erin reports ...

Puppy Summer (originally named "Sleepy" by Juana's daughter, Lucy) has symptoms of Parvo Virus

Puppy Summer is the smallest of the four black puppies we took in a few weeks ago. She's been sleeping a lot since she got here, and she has been sleeping even more lately, and today we noticed bloody, terribly watery diarrhea, a sign of Parvo Virus. We had most of the medicines from before (when Puppies Grace and Holly had their brushes with Parvo), and we moved the sick puppy inside the hospital. It is 8:30 p.m. (Monday) now, and Tina, Jason and I gave the puppy her diarrhea and upset-tummy medicines several times since we first noticed her bad diarrhea.

The other three puppies are playing with each other outside this evening and seem very fine. They do not have diarrhea. Hopefully Puppy Summer will get better soon, and the other three puppies' immune systems are already strong enough not to pick up this virus. (They all had their first round of puppy shots a week ago.)

Lucy (the white Pit Bull) was spayed Monday

Lucy was spayed and will be coming home today (Tuesday). Her eyes seem to be bothering her too, so the doctor gave us some ideas to help her.

Russell was vomiting this morning and wouldn't eat his breakfast

Tina announced that Russell was sick when she gave him his bowl of food at 6:30 this morning, and not only would he not eat, but he began vomiting. We'll keep a close eye on him and maybe take him to the vet later today.

Later in the morning Russell ran and played during his time in the park, and he ate a cookie from Caregiver Tina after his playtime, so hopefully he's on the mend.

We're planning today's trip to Dr. Reeves' clinic in Tyler

The van doesn't leave till afternoon, and we're not sure yet which dogs are going.
