Bill Arnold's Daily Straydog Log
SATURDAY JULY 3 2004
NOON UPDATE
Fireworks began Friday evening
Misty, who's suffering from very bad skin allergies and is already residing in one of our hospital kennels wearing an E-collar to stop her from chewing at her itchy skin, was calm during the barrage of explosions last night, but Sally and Alice dug out of their kennel three times before Randy (our overnight man) finally brought them in. Laura also dug out of her kennel and came running to the hospital trailer sliding glass door, Randy said, so he put her in a crate in the kitchen. "We'd better get several more crates lined up inside before tonight," Randy told me this morning. "Several of the other dogs were very nervous and scared, running frantically around their outdoor kennels, barking in all directions to try to ward off the 'fireworks attack.' "
Email update from Pat S. on Thelma (who's now named Coco)
Hi, Erin -
Thelma's (now Coco's) spay
appointment is next Wednesday, the 7th. Our obedience class is
on Tuesday nights, so she will have a whole week to recoup before
the next class. I can't tell you how crazy Dianne is about Coco.
Dianne wrote me a thank you note (she was in a auto wreck - someone
cut her off on the Tollway on a Sunday morning, and she spun around
and hit the side wall, totaled her car, had a dozen stitches in
her head, etc.) thanking us for the food we took over and phone
calls to make sure she was okay, and at the last of the note,
she said "Thank you for giving me the love of my life--the
four legged kind!" Her husband is also hooked.
Can't wait to meet Jackson - guess the next dog Jack Jones finds
will be Jacqueline (running out of "Jack" names!!) Thanks
also for saving the little kitten's life, Erin. You're a great
lady!!! See you soon!
