NOON UPDATE
Molly does NOT have cancer!
Dr. Morton called yesterday afternoon with the results from the lab on the three tumors the doctor had removed from Molly last Wednesday. All three were benign growths, and there should be no recurrence of the tumors, Dr. Morton said. GREAT NEWS! Molly's incisions are healing up fine, and she's been such a good girl she hasn't had to wear an E-collar.

Kitty Oliver is doing fine
The tiny kitten Erin rescued from the middle of the road a couple of weeks ago is residing in a small travel crate in our main hospital ward. Oliver is growing (tho he's still pretty tiny), and he's doing fine. He loves his play times out of his "kitty kennel," during which he gets to walk all over the kitchen counter tops and the big table in the "living room ward." All the dogs in the surrounding hospital kennels eye Oliver with great curiosity, but Oliver pays no attention to the dogs.
This little kitten is ready for adoption, possibly into a home with a dog or two. Oliver certainly shows no fear of dogs at this point in his life. Please call us or email us if you're interested in adopting Oliver.

Erin,
After reading about Old Katie and Pat's decision to have anesthetic administered before the lethal injection when Pat had to have an animal euthanized, I wanted to tell you my feelings about it. I think that it is CRUEL to give a lethal injection to a stressed animal, as all it does is paralyze them so that they are unable to breathe until they die. I can't believe that a vet would question that, but I know that from my experience that they do. With the last four animals (two dogs and two cats) that we have had to "put to sleep" we have been able to have our vet make a final house call (at a price), and that helped with the stress level for the animal and us. I agree with Pat 100% on this issue and think that more people should be made aware of it. Even convicted felons are fighting this same thing in court and if they should receive humane lethal injections, than so should our sweet, innocent babies. Okay, I'm better now. ... Hope you are well and a note from our home front: Chubs is walking with us again just like nothing happened.
Later,
Jana
Toby's cart has been ordered
The manufacturer said it would take two weeks to build the cart and then a few more days for shipping/delivery. Toby is going to love this vehicle, and I'll bet he'll cause a grand commotion among all the dogs who live in the kennels surrounding the park. They will be barking with envy!
We again want to thank Catherine and Randy M. for their kind generosity. Catherine emailed us a few photos of them and their dogs, Sooner and Lucas:
