Dr. Consuelo picks up her dog, Demon, continued
Dr. Consuelo brought Demon a back pack that the trainer had told her would help Demon focus, and he looked so cute wearing it.

After all the crying and hugging, Dr. Consuelo left for her home in Dallas, taking her Demon-boy back with her. We all said good-bye to both, and we wished them the best. It is hard when these fellas who have been in our care for a while leave us, but that's one of the essential parts of our job: get our doggies into individual family homes.
Volunteer Linda P. helps us this morning
We also had another nice visit from Mrs. Linda P. who came again today and volunteered helping us with our correspondence filing. We are really running out of space in our filing cabinets, but we will get some more plastic tubs to store the older files in so we'll have more space in our filing cabinets. Thank you for all your help, Linda! (Linda also got to meet and chat with Dr. Consuelo for a while.)
Sir Anthony's new open sore needs looked at by a vet
There were no emergency visits to our vet today, but I did call to ask if we could bring in Sir Anthony because as Tina reported Sunday, there's what looks like a cyst on the back of his head near his ear that has popped open and is still draining. We have been doctoring it, and I really don't remember seeing this cyst on Anthony before. We know he has had two lumps for a while, one on his back and one under his chest, and I've already taken Anthony to the vet to have these checked, and these growths were diagnosed as benign and nothing to worry about according to the vet. But we have been very worried about anything that appears on Anthony because of his history of having jaw cancer several years ago, which was surgically removed. Until Tina discovered this new cyst Sunday, Anthony had been doing pretty well with no recurring cancer so far, and we are keeping our fingers crossed and are praying that he stays this way. They were so busy at the clinic today that they couldn't see Anthony, but I made an appointment to take him in tomorrow morning, and meanwhile we are doctoring his new sore with saline water and Animax, an antibiotic salve. Anthony seems fine. He's acting normal, eating well and just being himself.

It's almost time for Lady-dog's knee checkup
I called the Dallas Veterinary Surgical Center (DVSC) in Mesquite today to ask if we should be bringing Lady-dog in to get x-rays and a checkup as it has been over two months now since Lady's TPLO knee surgery. As far as we can see Lady is doing just fine. We are still walking her on a leash every time she goes to the park, just as Dr. McDonald had instructed us to do. The receptionist told me to go ahead and take Lady to our regular vet clinic and ask them to get x-rays of Lady, and if our vet has any concerns or questions, he/she should contact them at the DVSC. So I will be taking our Lady-dog to our clinic tomorrow (Wednesday) along with Anthony.

We should be able to start walking Lady to the park and let her off leash at least for short periods of time, and, of course, we will still be keeping her inside, as we have been, until her full recovery. That's what we did in the past with Colby and Jackson. Lady-dog is doing very well, and I'm sure she can't wait to be able to run again.
