Interest in Liz

A lady spent a lot of time talking with us and visiting with all of our doggies. She is looking for a friend for her 10-year-old Springer Spaniel and enjoyed petting Liz. But, Liz is very nervous and quiet at Adoption Days, and the woman thought that Liz might be too docile. (We did tell her, though, that Liz is much more energetic at her home at Straydog in her big kennel with Big Boomer.) The woman said that her dog is good with other dogs, and she would perhaps like a female dog rather than a male, so besides Liz, maybe next week we could introduce her 10-year-old Spaniel to Natalie or Bunny or any of our others she might see on Petfinder. She took our information and newsletter and we hope to hear back. The woman seems like she's a great dog mom!

Everyone likes Big Pup Patsy

Patsy is a love who did not really receive any serious interest, but everyone who sees Patsy thinks she's very cute and sweet.

Volunteer Sally is about to give Puppy Patsy a treat.

Everyone thinks Big Dog Oso is beautiful

Oso was another dog who everyone thought was such a beautiful big boy. There was no interest in him other than Juana's 10-year-old daughter, Lucy, who said when she gets older, she is going to adopt Oso and Colby together. (Thanks to Lucy for her brother Roberto and me, helping us out again today at Adoption Day.)

Lucy would like to adopt Oso when she gets a little older.

Many thanks to all our helpers

A special thank to Janice, who brought us some tick and flea collars, and also to Sally, who brought us cookies! Thank y'all!

Also thank you to our volunteers Janice, Sally, David and Christine (Coco's previous mom, who came to help try to help get Coco adopted out). Christine did a lot of the talking when we had people come by interested in Coco, especially the family who took home an application on Coco.

Christine shows us that Coco knows how to shake hands.

Christine wishes she could take Coco back home, but he got into an awful fight with his brother, and they had to be separated.

HELP WANTED: If we could find a few more Saturday volunteers, it would sure help us out and maybe give a break to some of our regulars, who have been coming every weekend for a long, long time. If you can help us by sitting with us with a doggie on a leash, talk to the people who come by, walk dogs during potty breaks outside, fill water bowls, etc., please give us a call at 903-479-3497 or email us at straydog147@yahoo.com. Many thanks to everyone who continues to help Straydog.
