Today was a very good day for all of us here at Straydog, and once again thank goodness we didn't have any emergency visits to our vet clinic today.
Big Buddy's got a lump on the outside of his throat
Tomorrow we will be taking Big Buddy to be checked because we have found a lump or knot on the outside of his throat. It is a hard growth rather than a soft, squishy one, which is not a good sign, so we need to have the doctor check it.
Since we brought Buddy and his sister, Betsy, inside our hospital trailer, they have been doing very well, considering they both have very bad hip dysplasia, bad knees, bad elbows and all kinds of different leg and back problems, but Buddy has never lost his appetite or had any trouble trying to eat his meals. He and Betsy both seem to like and enjoy living inside Hospital I now, much more than he did a few months ago when every time they would go to the park, they would stand right by the park gate near their original kennel wanting to be taken back there. But now they go and do their business in the park and come right back to the gate that leads back to the hospital trailer. They are inside doggies now, and they just love it. We will see what the doctor finds out about our big Buddy-boy's newest lump. I'm hoping that there isn't anything serious wrong with him.

Travis has a widening bald spot
In addition to Buddy I will be taking Pup Travis to visit Dr. Terry tomorrow also. We have been seeing a little bit of hair loss on Travis' chest, which is spreading down to his leg, so Travis needs to be checked and probably get a skin scraping to be sure that he isn't getting mange again. That would be something. Also while we're at the vet, I will be asking for a fecal exam on Travis as he continues to have diarrhea most of the time.
