Brian goes in to be checked for demodectic mange
Along with Miss Cici, I took big Pup Brian in to have a bald spot checked on the back of his head. Brian is the brother of Travis, LeAnne, Patsy and Reba, all members of the litter of eight who came to us last October. (Unfortunately only three members of the litter of eight have been adopted so far--JW, Tanya and Trisha.) Travis and Patsy have recently come down with demodectic mange. All eight pups were being treated for sarcoptic mange when we first got them, and now it seems like Brian might have demodectic mange, and we need to find out so we can begin treating it. Our vets say that it is common for a dog who's had sarcoptic mange to later get demodectic mange.

Puppy Bree goes to the clinic with us
Lacie's puppy, Bree, adopted from a kill shelter, is also having to be treated with dips since she also has demodectic mange. Bree is a real cutie, and since I was going to the clinic today with two of our dogs, I didn't mind taking Bree for her second dip today. I left all three at the clinic, since today Morton Clinic has a staff meeting and they close for almost two hours at lunch time. It was not going to be until at least four p.m. before they could release Cici anyway.
Later on the clinic called saying that sure enough Brian had demodectic mange and he did get his first mange dip today, with five more to go. At that time they still didn't have the results of Cici's Cushing's Disease tests now we wouldn't be getting them till Thursday because Dr. Terry is off Wednesdays.
Noble is totally back to normal after what they first thought was aspiration pneumonia
Noble is doing very well. We haven't heard him having any trouble breathing for several days now. Noble is eating, drinking and wanting to play like nothing is bothering him, and he sure had fun playing with Lacie's Bruno and Bree last evening.

Volunteer Linda helps us again
Also this morning we had a nice visit from Volunteer Linda, who came and helped us do more filing. She also brought us some yummy donuts, and we thank you, Linda!
