Juana reports ...      Edited and posted by Bill

Lacie and Bruno are very sore but okay

Today was a better day for all of us, thank goodness. Yesterday's experience of almost losing Lacie in a car accident was too close and too scary for us, but thank God, Lacie and her puppy Bruno are okay. Both are very sore but doing well. Lacie is working this evening with Roberto's help, and, of course, we told her not to over-do it.

Fancy comes inside because she's limping

Fancy has been limping on and off for two days now. We brought her inside our hospital trailer and put her in a crate to keep her from running and playing too hard. The doctor said we are to keep her off her leg as much as possible and to see if the pain meds and bed rest will do the trick. Fancy, like most of our dogs, loves to run and play all day long. Also, having a very rambunctious kennel mate like Terry-dog makes it impossible for Fancy to slow down. By separating both girls and having Fancy inside, we really hope she will heal up. Hopefully Fancy only bruised up her back leg, and it's not something worse. We are keeping our fingers crossed.

Skipper continues to do well

Skipper continues doing well execpt for having a little bit of diarrhea, which he's getting acidophilous for. We still have him on the high dose of Pheno per Dr. Decote'. We will take Skippy back on April 22nd for a re-check and evaluation.

Skipper is doing well on the higher dose of Phenobarbitol.

Spring Cleaning of shelters and dog houses

Today we removed more winter front boards from our shelters. This difficult job really takes a lot of our time, but we have to do it every Spring. It will be especially good to get all the old hay out and wash these dog houses and shelters because of our flea and tick problem. We are removing the front boards, taking away all the old hay, and then washing the dog houses before we put them back inside the shelter.

Jeff removed the winter front board and hay from the Skipper's shelter.
