ADOPTION DAY RESULTS:

Coco and Babie adopted!

Erin reports ...

Coco's early home visit

Lacie and Roberto were setting up for Adoption Day out front of the Plano East Petsmart store when Christine and I arrived early in the morning to do Coco's home visit. We gathered the paperwork from Lacie, and Coco got in the back seat of Christine's car. Christine put the windows down a couple inches only. She told me that once before Coco had actually jumped out the car window (I guess the car was stopped) and that had been a harrowing experience!

Coco arrives at Sue Ellen's home Saturday morning.

Sue Ellen (the prospective mom) doesn't live far from Petsmart. She was expecting us, and everything went just as we were hoping! Her two female dogs, Belle (a yellow lab) and Cheyenne (a Siberian Husky) liked Coco very much. Coco was shy at first, but then warmed up very quickly to his two new female canine friends. Coco, who was used to two cats in his previous home with Christine, didn't pay any attention to the 8 kitties in Sue Ellen's home. The cats did not run from Coco either. BB, a playful white kitty with orange markings did playfully swipe at Coco's tail from the desk he stood on. The kitties have the run of the house. Some were in the solarium. Some were on the couches, and there is a cat room with a baby-gated door so the dogs can't get into kitties' food or cat litter. Sue Ellen also has a handicapped cat, who prefers to be in the cat room when the dogs are romping around the house. Sue Ellen's home is set up great for her animals. We were quite impressed!

Belle and Cheyenne are in the Solarium, both wagging their tails at Coco.

There is acceptance of Coco, no growling or aggression at all.
