Another good Sunday at Straydog
Today has been a very good day, and the weather has been absolutely excellent. The temperature reached 80 degrees, and there was a really nice breeze blowing.
Dog walks, kennel cleaning and spraying for fleas
Today we had Rhonda doing dog walks to and from the park, and Jeff and I did all the kennel work, making very good time as we finished kennels by eleven o'clock. George left Hospital I for a while, and spent time over in Central Section weed-eating and spraying for fleas in Pokie and Sidney's old kennel. The plan is to use that kennel (after the poison spray dries) to temporarily park other doggies in after they get their flea baths so we can prepare their kennels for us to spray with the parasite poison.
We cleaned out the hay in from the houses and shelter of Bear and Tabitha's kennel and washed their dog houses, gave both dogs baths and then put them in Nikki and Rex's kennel temporarily, which had already been sprayed on Thursday, and was now dry and flea-free. Then when that was done, Jeff sprayed their kennel with the bug poison. While he was doing that, Rhonda informed me that Zack still had a few fleas crawling on him. I had already sprayed Zack's kennel and had given him a bath Thursday morning, so I called Juana, and she said for me to put some Frontline on Zack, which hopefully will kill any remaining fleas. If it doesn't kill them all in a few days, we will give Zack another bath and start all over.

After I got done putting Frontline on Zack, and after Jeff finished spraying Bear and Tabitha's kennel, we moved on to Wolfie and Reba's kennel and shelter and removed the hay and washed the dog houses. We ran out of the Demon poison bug spray, so Jorge will have to go to Mabank Feed Store to pick us up some more in the morning in order for us to be able to spray their kennel, and then we'll bathe Wolfie and Reba. We are all hoping we can get finished with all of the removal of the hay within a few more days, but we have a lot of kennels to go.
