Coco's kennel mate, Patsy, now needs a friend and at least part-time companion

Since Coco was adopted Saturday, Patsy has been alone, so I figured we could let Patsy and her sister, LeAnne, play together for a while. (LeAnne's little playmate, Conrad, was at home with Juana and Bill today.) Rhonda and I kept both these two grown litter mates (who've been apart for months now) on a leash and a short getting acquainted period they did fine. At first they both had their hair standing up on their backs, but they were very good girls and showed no aggression towards each other, and their hair went down, so we let them off of the leashes and they sniffed around together and sniffed each other and seemed fine together, so Rhonda took them back to Patsy's kennel, where they played very well together for three or four hours until we finally put LeAnne back with her older kennel mate, Scottie-dog.

LeAnne and Patsy are reintroduced in the park after being apart for several months.

Some dogs sunbathe and some don't

Each of the doggies is an individual. They are all really quite different from each other--I guess just like we are all different from each other. Some of the doggies enjoy the sunshine and some don't. Big Boomer loves to lie on his shelter roof while Tipper likes the shade. I even saw Laura lying in the sun in the park, and I couldn't believe it as she looked so hot. (I've read that when they need vitamins D, the dogs will lie in the sun no matter how hot it is.) I got the camera to get a photo of Laura lying in the hot sun, but she must have heard me because as soon as I knelt down to take her pretty little picture, this blind older girl got up and walked straight over to me. She amazes me sometimes.

Blind Laura doesn't mind the hot sun even with all her hair (which will be cut soon).

All is well at Straydog

As we get ready to leave Sunday evening, all the doggies are fine, and our overnight man, Randy, is taking over. Jeff and I will be back at five a.m. to feed all 100 babies their breakfast.
