Frosty goes for her follow up exam after bullet-wound surgery on November 13th
Frosty is the beautiful Husky who was rescued after having been shot in her left hind leg, which caused a very serious wound. It's been a month since the doctor preformed surgery to save her leg (as well as her life) and today was the checkup to see how her leg is healing.
"She is doing amazingly well," said Dr. Morton as he examined Frosty's wounded leg gently, saying that the thigh bone (femur), which had been broken by the impact of the .22 caliber bullet (and now had a metal plate holding it together), was healing nicely, and her knee, which had been shattered by the direct hit of the bullet, now has good movement.

Dr. Morton bends Frosty's knee with no problem and apparently little (if any) pain, though the doctor said Frosty will be feeling pain in that leg for quite some time.

The doctor added that Frosty can have longer walks now and can spend time in her kennel yard (formerly Danny's yard) off the leash "if she doesn't run."
It seemed to me that Frosty's ears had been bothering her a little, so the doctor examined her ears too, which Frosty didn't like at all.
Dr. Morton applied some ear mite medicine, and that was it for Frosty's vet visit, so Bill took her to the grassy areas by the parking lot to sniff around while I took Sassy Katie into the clinic.
Katie gets her nails trimmed
If you've been following this journal, you probably know that Katie hates to have anyone touch her toes, so we have to have a pro do it!

With the help of two vet techs, one holding Katie while the other tended to her paws, and with the use of a pretty blue muzzle, Katie's nails were trimmed in just minutes without a problem, and out we went, put Katie back into her crate in the van where Bill and Frosty were waiting, and home we came.
Three little puppies, Melinda, Blake and Bonnie like to play outside!
These three little pups love to be outside and on the nice, sunny days we've had lately they've enjoyed playing in the puppy kennel by our house. During bad weather days, and always at night, the puppies come into the house and stay in the large kennel in the kitchen. With just the three pups now, there is much more room for them in the kitchen kennel. The report from the foster care mom who is taking care of the other three little pups is that they are having a fun time at their home too.
