Visitors come to see our Happy Home for Strays
Even tho it was quite a gray, chilly afternoon, our visitors, Carolyn Pope and her husband, Frank, still came to visit our Happy Home for Strays. Bill and I took them on a tour of our shelter, and they stopped and visited with all the dogs as we passed the many kennels. The dogs, of course, were all barking their happy hellos, as they love visitors!

The couple ended up their visit by coming in our house to see Old Granny Snowflake and little blind puppy, Chubs, and his sister Cassie, and they brought us a big box of puppy papers for the pups too, which will really come in handy!
They left us another very generous donation, which will go toward out never-ending vet bill.
We enjoyed meeting this wonderful couple and thank them, again, for all of the help they've already given to the many rescued dogs at our shelter.
Results of Big Boy's blood test came back and Dr. Morton wants to run another test tomorrow
Big Boy (who saw Dr. Morton yesterday because of the seizure he had yesterday) needs another blood test early tomorrow morning, and Big Boy must fast from his last meal today till after his blood test first thing in the morning, so we're boarding him over night till after his blood test. We also needed to board Davey (our most recent new arrival) for half the day tomorrow while we do some rearranging of kennels so that we can move Davey to a bigger kennel. So, since both dogs needed to go to the clinic tomorrow anyway, we decided to take them tonight. This way Big Boy (who has to fast from now till after his new blood test) would be there early for his test and with Davey there we could get an early start on the rearranging of kennels for him.
Both dogs are settled at the clinic now. They are probably glad to have such nice warm housing for the night! With 20 degrees expected for the low tonight, we've made sure all the dog houses are fill with fresh hay and the heat lamps have been turned on for all the dogs who need the extra warmth. Our goal is to have a heated kennel structure built for the dogs just as soon as we can raise the funds for this. Heat in the winter and air conditioning in the summer!
