Chilly in the morning, nice warm day in the afternoon

     Today was a very warm day. It was a little windy, and that made it chilly. But it was only chilly in the morning and the rest of the day was great. It was sunny with highs in the lower 70s.

Wayne is sick for the first time

     There were no emergency visits to our vet. We started with a full crew, but as the morning wore on, for the first time in the two years he's been with us, our caregiver/walker/feeder, Wayne got very sick. Thank goodness it's Good Friday, and my sun, Gordie, didn't have school today. He came down to the shelter and took over our walks for Wayne for the rest of the day today.

Lacie trains Melanie and Sarah on kennel work

     Lacie was training Melanie and Sarah. She was again teaching them how to do kennels, and they all did a good job. Melanie and Sarah learned why we make sure that every single water bucket is filled to the top. Before they didn't quite understand why and thought we were wasting water, but after we talked to them, they got it. This way we will know if any of our doggies might be sick and drinking too much water. Also, we would know if something was wrong with a water bucket. We would notice a hole. It is for these and other reasons that I frequently go by each kennel and check our dogs and their water buckets too. I also check on lots of other things.
