Juana reports...
Another busy day; no emergencies
Today was another busy day. We had a full crew, and everybody did very well and took good care of all of our doggies. We didn't have any emergencies or any trips to our vet. It was very cool and nice early this morning, but as the day wore on, it turned out to be hot and muggy.
Noble's blood sugar levels are pretty much under control, but the poor fellow must continue to be doctored and remain in quarantine for ringworm
As everybody knows already, our poor Noble-man has ringworm (which we know is a fungus), and Noble got it from our rescued kittens, Keely, Sonic and Babie. Diabetic Noble, as we've reported before, is especially nosy. And more than likely, he was sniffing and trying to get into things that he shouldn't have--like probably the cat litter box. Well, the poor fellow now has ringworm, which is curable, but it takes time and effort. We don't mind taking care of all this, but Noble doesn't understand. We feel so bad for him, since he is our spoiled kid around here. We have always let him roam freely around H1 and do whatever he wants to do. I know it isn't fair to all of our other doggies kept in the crates and kennels. We treat the Chihuahua gang the same way, but Noble is much more nosy than the Chihuahuas, and that's how he got the ringworm. Now that Noble has this fungus, we have to keep him in a crate in the back room, all by himself. He can't go to the park now, so we take him to the temporary kennel right by the Hospital I deck. Noble just looks at us when we pass by with the Chihuahuas and Cici on our way to the park. Noble doesn't understand why we are treating him like this. We doctor Noble with the Malaseb towels and then the Conofite lotion. Noble gets some oral medication for this as well. He also gets that awful dip every five to seven days, just like we give to the kittens. We are trying everything that we possibly can to take care of this problem. But we still feel sorry for this poor boy. His sugar levels, on the other hand, have been good, and we haven't let them get too high. At least we got this under control!
