Puppy Andy and his mom "are the perfect match", says Andy's new mom

We have been talking about and thinking about Puppy Andy, who got adopted last week. Wow, it has only been one week. Anyway, I called Patti just to see how things were going and how our little boy was behaving. Patti said that she and Andy are getting along very well and that Andy is a very spoiled "kid." He is learning, but he has his way. But, she is really enjoying Andy. "Andy and I are the perfect match. I really love him. We've been working on potty training. He seems to be getting better every day," Patti said. Patti is planning to take Andy to her vet next week. She will call us and let us know how that goes. So far so good, and everything is really working out great for both of them.

Duncan is still at the vet clinic and is eating a little canned food, but hasn't had a BM yet

Early this morning I called the vet clinic to ask about Duncan . Receptionist Vicki said, " Duncan is still with us. I can't tell you how he is doing, but he looks pretty good to me." We had to wait for one of the techs or for Dr. Terry to come in and call us with an update. Dr. Terry called later on to tell us that Duncan has been eating some A/D canned food, but he will only eat a little bit, and he still hasn't had a BM. When they took another x-ray, whatever they saw on the x-ray has moved down into the colon. That's a good sign that whatever it is, it's passing through. "Let's wait until tomorrow morning and see how he does. If he has a BM, eats, drinks and we take another x-ray, he might get to go home tomorrow, if we see that he is getting better. So far, no surgery is required." That was all very good news, and we were glad to hear it.

Penny misses Duncan

Penny-girl really misses Duncan . You can tell by the look in her eyes. She looks at us, as if to say, "Where is he?" She is so funny and such a sweetheart. Penny is always ready to play. She gets the ball, and she's ready to go.

Pepper's mouth still isn't all healed up

While I had Dr. Terry on the phone, I also asked her about Pepper. Pepper had some dental work done not too long ago. She got her teeth cleaned and had some teeth extracted. But Pepper still has a bad case of Gingivitis, so we've been brushing her teeth, very thoroughly, everyday. Dr. Terry asked if we had some of the liquid dental rinse that we were using for Becky. We do have some of that, so the doctor said to stop brushing Pepper's teeth and just rinse her mouth with this stuff instead. It has some kind of fungal medicine, which should help Pepper. If Pepper's gums don't improve soon, we should start her on Clindamycin.

Volunteer Linda P. helps us again today

Linda P. came to Straydog today and helped file our correspondence. She is getting very close to being caught up, yea! Linda also visited with Maria. Maria really enjoys being petted and being talked to. Maria has a big knot on her back where she got her heartworm injection. We've seen other dogs do the same. Dr. Reeves' clinic is closed for this whole week. We will have to wait until next week to see what he wants us to do. Maria doesn't seem to be bothered by the bump, and she is walking just fine. She loves to go to the park, but we can't let her run yet, poor thing! Maria is a very sweet girl.

Noble is hanging in there

Our Noble-man is just hanging in there. He doesn't like the crate that we had to put him in (because he has ringworm, which is so very contagious). He is staying far enough away from all the Chihuahuas and the kittens too. We have to take Noble to the small temporary kennel right outside our H1, where he stays for short periods of time, especially when it's cool. We are treating Noble with the Malaseb towels, Conofite and dips every week. He also gets oral medication, poor thing! But, it's just a matter of time, and he should be back to normal.

Jack and Jill get bathed today

Early this morning Jack and Jill had very bad diarrhea, and we just don't why. We've been talking about the fact that we've wanted to bathe Jack and Jill. Today was the perfect day to do this, and Lacie did a good job of it. Jack and Jill like their baths. After they were dry, we were planning to trim their rear ends. Every time they get diarrhea, we have to trim them, poor things.

Jill gets a good bath from Lacie.

Jack gets his bath too.
