Kitten Panther goes to the vet
David and Bill's brother, Tom, who's been volunteering at the shelter for a while, took the black kitty that Juana had been bottle-feeding to Morton Clinic at 9:00 this morning. We named the kitten Panther, because he is black like a panther. Panther needed to go to the vet to get his ear checked, after the accident last night when Krissy got out of her kennel in Hospital II and went after Panther in his crate. Panther is eating and playing and seems just fine after this unfortunate incident with Krissy. We didn't know Krissy would be so bad to a kitten. We put Panther's crate over in the kennel office, where there are no dogs. We're sorry this happened, Little Panther.
Panther gets medicine for his ear and his first set of shots
Panther also needed his first checkup because he is now old enough. The doctor shaved Panther's ear and doctored it with some Trypzyme liquid. She gave us some Clavamox, which is an antibiotic, and some of the Trypzyme liquid to doctor his ear with, twice a day. The doctor also told us that Panther was definitely a boy. (We weren't sure.) Panther got his first set of shots and wormer. Other than his poor ear, he is a healthy four-week-old baby boy kitten.

Linda P. helps us again with filing
Linda P. came to help us catch up on some filing and to check on her rescue, Maria. We want to thank you, Linda, for helping us get caught up. You were a big help. Thank you, Linda!

Rosita and Lucky have fun in the big park
Rosita and Lucky, who Juana fosters, had so much fun playing in the park today. Rosita and Lucky ran around everywhere, looking at everything. When it was time to go back, Tina and I had to chase them down. They just didn't want to go back to their kennel. They are very cute and sweet. We enjoy having them with us, while Juana is away visiting her relatives.
