Decker is doing well after being returned to Straydog on Saturday

Decker was returned to us on Saturday, and he's doing well. Decker seems to remember it here, and he is adjusting very well. We aren't having any problems with him at all. Decker is a good and loving dog. Juana will be taking him to Morton Clinic tomorrow to get a checkup, shots, a heartworm test, a fecal test and everything that he needs to be up to date on his vetting. Decker is such a handsome dog. You can't help but fall in love with him right away. Hopefully Decker doesn't have anything contagious and he'll be able to go to the park tomorrow.

Decker will be able to run in the park after he has his checkup tomorrow if everything checks out normal.

Noble is going to have glucose curve testing again

Noble also has a vet appointment tomorrow, but he is going to Syler Animal Clinic. He has to be there at 9:00. Noble will be going to get his sugar levels tested again during all day monitoring. The last time that we took Noble, the doctor said to raise his insulin from 14 units to 16 units because his sugar was still too high throughout the day. We've been giving him 16 units for two weeks now, and Noble seems fine. He's been active and hyper, and he still loves to play with his toys. Noble seems to be doing well with taking 16 units. So hopefully the 16-unit dose is keeping his sugar level down during the day and we won't have to increase his insulin dosage.

We can tell that Noble feels better with the higher dosage of insulin that he has been on.

Diabetic Frosty is going with Noble for her testing too

Frosty will also be going to Syler Animal Clinic tomorrow with Noble. We just recently found out that Frosty is diabetic. We called and made an appointment at Syler Clinic with the doctor there, because she has been the one helping us with Noble and his insulin problems. Frosty will be spending the day at Syler Clinic also so they can check her sugar levels periodically throughout the day. This will tell the doctor how much insulin we are to give Frosty.

Big Boy

Juana talked to Dr. Terry about Big Boy today. She wanted to see if we needed to bring him in for a recheck on his potassium level. Dr. Terry said that Big Boy should be fine and that she will check him again next week. She also said to stop giving him the IV fluids, but she wants us to keep giving him his medicine until she checks him again next week to see how high his potassium is.

Big Boy rests in his kennel inside Hospital One.

James continues working on our water well

James worked on tearing down the old well house and getting rid off all of the bits and pieces today. James is still doing some things that need to be done, so that we can get the water system working with the original well. Thank you, James, for working so hard on this project. We have to have water. And thank you to the rest of the crew, who worked so very hard to get everything done today, even though it was raining and very nasty outside.
