Our Straydog Special Events Team (including Tom, Linda, David and Matt) attends a special event at Elite Suites Dog Boarding and Day Care

Our events crew had a nice day, sunny with a high around 90 degrees, and they took along Tuffy, Duncan, Krissy, Shyanne and Amy. There wasn't a really big crowd in attendance, but those who visited with our team had a good time, and our dogs got plenty of walks for potty breaks.

Several visitors stop by and visit us and our dogs under our tent. That's volunteer and longtime Straydog
supporter, Cher Imrie, in the green Straydog shirt chatting with Tom Arnold in the upper left of the photo.

Shyanne and Amy get walked by longtime supporter, Kenneth Senkel and our own Matt Rentz.

David walks Krissy and Chrystyna Senkel walks Duncan.

Tuffy enjoys lying in the shade inside his crate.

The Senkels bring along their motorcycle with sidecar for visitors to get photos of themselves with their dogs

This was one of the highlights of the day, and we thank Kenneth very much for bringing along his bike (with sidecar) so that our visitors could get photos of themselves on the bike with their dogs sitting in the sidecar. This made for a lot of fun.

This nice couple enjoyed sitting on the bike while their dog, Mombo, sat patiently in the sidecar.

Michael, who adopted Dudge from Straydog in May of 2010, sits on
the bike with Dudge in the sidecar at our special event at Elite
Suites Dog Boarding and Day Care in Rockwall, Texas.

A service dog named Sergeant sits in the sidecar while his guardian/trainer sits on the motorcycle.

SHELTER REPORT:

Juana, Lacie and Lucy attend a fundraiser for Children's Advocacy

Today Juana left me (Bill) and her son, Gordie, plus the rest of our regular Saturday crew (Sherri, Wayne and Lee) to "hold the fort" and run the shelter for the day so she, her daughter Lucy and her assistant, Lacie, could attend the annual Bingo fundraiser for our longtime supporter, Carole Walsh's charity, The Dallas Children's Advocacy Center (DCAC) in Dallas. Erin and her husband, Dana, also attended, and everyone had a good time, and Lucy won a prize.

Meanwhile back at the Shelter

We were very busy here at Straydog all day, especially without Juana here to guide us through the day, but we took care of all the chores and duties as best we could. Gordie and I and the rest of the crew were so busy covering Juana's normal work that we forgot to take any photos here at Straydog. (David Rentz did snap a few photos (published above) of our Special Event at Elite Suites Dog Boarding and Day Care in Rockwall, Texas.)

Sally's not feeling well but finally ate a can of wet food hand-fed to her by Sherri

Sally wouldn't eat breakfast this morning, and she looked like she didn't feel well most of the day. Finally at a little after three p.m., Sherri and I went into Sally and Alice's kennel, took Sally's temperature, which was normal, and Sherri got Sally to eat almost a whole can of wet dog food by hand-feeding it to her. Because Sally did eat and had a normal temperature, we decided to wait another day before calling the doctor. Oftentimes dogs will have upset digestive systems for a day (or even two days), and then they snap out of it and are fine. We were worried about Sally, but there was nothing we could do but wait.
