Mackey crossed the Rainbow Bridge this morning

      Mackey's been coughing a lot and having difficulty breathing lately. Yesterday he coughed almost all day long, and last night he got even worse. Juana and I took the old fellow (he's about 15 or 16 years old) to Morton Clinic to first see if there might be anything--any possibility--of anything we might do to save Mackey and give him a little more of this life. But after examining our beloved little fellow, Dr. Terry said that he was on the highest dosage of his meds and there was nothing more she could do. Mackey wasn't going to get any better, and Dr. Terry said that the way Mackey would die naturally within the next day or so would be very, very painful and unpleasant. We all agreed that it was time to help sweet Mackey cross the Rainbow Bridge.

Mackey trots across the park back on August 25, 2010. He was a happy guy and had a good life.
