Bill report ...
Juana, Lucy, Tucker and I drove to Houston for a home visit for Tucker Saturday, January 21, 2012. It turned out to be a wonderful forever home for Tucker, who we're absolutely sure will enjoy a long, happy life with his new mom and dad!

You'll be glad to know Tucker
(now Tiernan, Gaelic for Lordly) just ate 3 cups of food.
Carrig [original dog] was in his crate and ate his. I put
their food dishes close together one inside, one outside and no
snarling or barking!

Thought I'd let you guys know that things are working out well.
Tiernan and Carrig have had a few dominance things going on, but
nothing big. Tiernan is eating 3 cups in the morning, 2
cups at lunch and 3 cups again for dinner, plus all the treats
he can get his paws on. I had moved all the treat bags up
to the top shelf of the bookcases and this morning had to move
them into the closet behind closed doors. They are both
lying on the floor while I'm up here working in my office.
By the way, we've renamed Tucker Tiernan which is Gaelic for lordly
since he's such a prince!

I think someone trained Tiernan to some degree before he got lost
or dumped. He goes through the dog door with absolutely
no problem and he walks on the leash without pulling, even when
he sees a squirrel. He does whine if he sees a dog outside
on the sidewalk but that's because he wants to play! He
also understands NO and then gives you a bashful look.

Hi Liz, I'm so glad and happy
Tiernan (formerly Tucker) is doing good! Thank you so much for
giving him a good forever home. We had fun and were very pleased
doing the home visit with you guys. He really seemed happy and
your dog Carrig too. He is a sweetheart.
Take care, and please continue updating us on how things are going
when you have time. Some photos once in a while would be great
so we can share with our readers on our website.
Again thank you and your husband so much!

We will. What were the other medications you had him on you mentioned Benadryl, I think.

Can you send me the dosage he's starting it scratch himself. Also can you send me a complete copy of the vet record for my vet? You can fax that to me. Thanks.

Hi Liz, I just read your email. We didn't have good Internet signal
till today at work. I will have that medical record faxed to you
tomorrow. The dose I gave Tucker on Benadryl was 2 pills of 25
mg twice per day. One fish oil or flax oil pill of either 1000
or 1500 mg twice per day, all with meals.
He was taking Cephalexin at the beginning for his skin but he
is all done with that now that the mange is gone.
Again thank you so much!

Thanks this is what I needed. We found out today that
Tiernan can push open sliding glass doors! He got into the
closet and ate an entire bag of beef jerky treats! We call
him the food black hole.

Oh my goodness! So funny but not too funny, I know, sorry. I told him he needed to show some manners, but he didn't listen.

Had Tiernan to the vet today.
He now weighs 116 pounds, which isn't surprising considering the
amount of food he's gotten in a clandestine manner! I'm
calling him the food black hole! The vet said he's in good
health and looks like a happy dog, and they were all a little
surprised by the size! They only have a half dozen dogs
that big.

Thank you for the update, Liz! I'm so happy hearing that Tucker
(now Tiernan) is doing good with you guys! Hugs and kisses to
him, and tell him that pup Marie, his former kennel mate, has
found a friend and she isn't lonely anymore. She misses her handsome
big fella, Tucker, but she is happy now with Pup Teresa, who is
a new rescue dog who keeps Marie happy and content.
Thank you so much! Looking forward for more updates and photos when you can. Best regards,
Juana
