by David Rentz on Blind
& Deaf Dog Colt - MONDAY February 18,
2013

Our beautiful Colt.
[Bill adds: Our beautiful blind and deaf
Colt would be quite a challenge should anyone consider adopting
this wonderful dog. Unlike Helen Keller, Colt can't learn to read
and write, But before Helen Keller did begin to read and write,
she must have perceived her world feeling pretty much the way
Colt perceives his. We might be able to create a language that
Colt could understand. I blow puffs of my breath toward him when
I'm there with cookies. He picks up what's going on when Blondie
and Tobi next door start barking. He must be able to smell their
bark-breath in the air. He's a fascinating dog to see and observe
every day.]
